“From safe haven to danger zone. Rock Creek was once a place where people could swim and enjoy nature. Now, it’s highly contaminated due to sewer runoff overflowing the area with pollution. The creek’s story mirrors the environmental challenges facing DC.”

“My name is Andrea, and I’m 14. Ever since I was younger, I have loved walking around DC, experiencing its neighborhoods, and seeing how the city has changed over the years. I believe in the power of community and the importance of preserving our local history. I’m inspired by the residents of neighborhoods and the areas they turn into their landscaping.”
