Pregnant Teenagers in School
This is a student at H.D. Woodson SHS who is pregnant. This is her second child and she feels like she can't handle school anymore. She is behind in most of her classes and her attendance is not so good. The school doesn't reach out to try to help her. We do have a New Heights Program that will be be good for her, but teenage pregnancy is one of the reasons why District of Columbia's dropout rate is so high. I suggest that we should have more programs and mentors for the students who are pregnant to prevent them from dropping out. The programs should try to help the teen moms get an education and stay in school.
