School-Based Programs

Our In-School Programs are implemented in partnership with classroom teachers and with the active support of principals. Programs provide students with the opportunity to participate in Critical Exposure’s programs during the school day, enabling us to reach youth who either do not or cannot participate in afterschool activities.

Summer Youth Facilitator Institute

Thurgood Marshall Center and program sites citywide

Our Summer Programs are taught by selected youth from Critical Exposure’s Fellowship Program or alumni, who are hired and trained as facilitators through our comprehensive Summer Youth Facilitator Institute. This peer-to-peer learning is the highest rung of our youth development ladder as it elevates our youth from being the participants to the facilitators.

Youth Internship

Fellowship

The Fellowship is our most advanced program in terms of both youth empowerment and photography. This program is year-long, with students frequently returning for a second or even third year. It meets twice weekly for two hours each session, in addition to numerous field trips and training opportunities.
